Gulab sharbet – Rose-flavored cold drink

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups (550 g) sugar
  • 5 cups (1.2 L) water
  • 1 tbs rose-water
  • 1 tsp red food coloring
  • iced water and crushed ice mint leaves

Directions

1Make a syrup by cooking the sugar and water in a saucepan over gentle heat until the sugar dissolves. Cool. Then add the rose-water and food coloring.

2Just before serving put 2 tablespoons of syrup in each glass and fill up with iced water and crushed ice. The amount of syrup can be increased or decreased according to taste.
